A variety of webinars that award continuing education credits are available for psychologists and licensed counselors. Current webinar titles include:
The complete Orientation to College Counseling (OTCC) certification series is now available by webinar. Completion of the series will provide 6 hours of continuing education and a College Counseling Certification. The cost for ACCA members is $150 and for non-members is $175.
This all day certification program is designed to provide those interested in college counseling a foundational overview of the key elements related to college counseling.
The program will be useful to graduate students, clinicians recently hired in a college setting, clinicians looking to better their chances in their college counseling job search, and clinical staff in need of professional development.
There are four 90-minute workshops, each required to be completed to receive the College Counseling Certification (CCC). These modules include Campus Setting, Clinical Foundations, Outreach Programming, and Student Development. Those successfully completing all four modules will receive six (6) Continuing Education (CE) credits as well as a College Counseling Certification (CCC).
Traditional aged college students (18-23) often come to campus in an exploratory phase of their development and non-traditional aged students may also question prior belief systems. These explorations may challenge students’ spiritual and religious beliefs as well as lead them to reevaluate their worldview. College students may face crises away from their family of origin, such as questioning sexual identity, career decision making, or more serious incidents such as hazing and death of loved ones. In this webinar, the presenters discuss the ACCA and ASERVIC competencies that can help guide counselors in their practice as it pertains to these issues and offer case-studies, and theories to illustrate these complex issues.
